Our anthologies consisting entirely of submission by group members and service users have been very popular. To see your work in print on your bookshelf is a thing of beauty.
And so, back by popular demand, here is YOUR chance to get your words in our next anthology. This one is special. We are opening TWO submission calls. That’s right, TWO of them. Listen closely to what they are…
1. Written by Adults (18 and over)
2. Written by Under 18s.
Yes, for the first time, we are giving the younger generation a chance to be heard – because we know they have a lot to say. Both books will be launched at the same time and should complement each other nicely.
Here are the writing briefs, along with the submission
links. Pay close attention to which link you’re using. If you submit to the
wrong one, we will not accept your piece, even if it’s a blinder.
18 and Over
1 in 4 adults have a mental illness – for many, this
starting during the childhood years. We can all get hung up on hindsight,
wishing we could go back in time. Now’s your chance. Write in any form to past
you, or to the present young generation, with words you wish someone had told
you. Here’s your chance to make a difference.
Maximum word count is 1500 – however, if you think your
piece needs to be heard and is longer, email us info@poetsin.com. We may
consider but cannot guarantee it.
1 in 8 children and young people have at least one mental
illness – it’s not easy being you. Now’s your chance to be heard and featured
in our newest book that will be read and heard by adults across the world. Tell
them what it’s like being you in today’s world.
Maximum word count is 1500 – however, if you think your
piece needs to be heard and is longer, email us info@poetsin.com. We may
consider but cannot guarantee it. (Upon submitting, please let us know which
school you go to. If your school gets lots of submissions, they will have their
own section within the book).
Please feel free to share this post or links to this post.
We want your words, whatever age you are.
All monies raised enable us to reach and help adults, children, and young people with their mental health in a society where mental health services are being cut and waiting lists are 6 to 18months. PoetsIN™ are dedicated to ensuring no one has to wait longer than one month for help, once accepted for our services.
So what are you waiting for? Let’s get writing and the kids
can tell the adults what’s what and the adults can tell the younger them or the
younger generations what they feel they should know!
SUBMISSIONS CLOSE JANUARY 31ST 2020. Successful entrants will be emailed in due course.
